The Cycling Club’s weekly Tuesday night racing was held at the motor racing circuit on
a fine clear night with little wind which was a bonus especially for the riders in Group 1 and
2. They made the most of their generous handicap and finished the 6 lap, 20km event 30
seconds ahead of the faster 3, 4 and 5 handicap groups. A bunch of 18 riders sprinted for
the finish line with Scott and Damien Murray fighting hard for first place and Brent Cameron
just a wheel length behind them in 3rd place.
Dean Barnes and Patrick Bevan had their chances ruined by punctures - not usually a problem
on the very smooth racing circuit.
As usual the Sunday bunch rides will leave from Top Gear Cycles at 8am and 9am, and for you
‘trackies’ Wednesday evening for racing at the velodrome. See our website
