Minutes of the meeting of the Taupo Cycling Club held at
Scenic Cellars on Monday 5 November 2007, 6.30pm.
PRESENT: Mike Langley, Graeme Usher, Janet Wilkinson, Chris Henderson, Geoff Neame, Susan Watson, John Carmen, Faith Barber.

1. Mike Langley welcomed new committee members to the meeting
- MATTERS ARISING FROM LAST MEETING OF 17 SEPTEMBER 2007.

- Napier/Taupo race went well
- Mike Rendall happy to continue time keeping.
- Mike Langley reported Bike Taupo progressing well with the map of cycling circuits in the Taupo region.
- Email database needs to be updated
- Okay to email members as unsolicited email act covered by members signing membership form.
- Sheryl to get prices for club gear

- GENERAL BUSINESS
- Tuesday track going well, good numbers attending with better weather
- Electronic timing system – Graeme Usher presented the cost of an electronic timing system from Time 7, John Carmen suggested we could investigate sharing the cost with the Taupo Mountain Bike and Tri Sport Taupo Club. Graeme Usher to investigate further the cost and an alternative supplier.
- Wednesday night racing going well with Mark Gibson. Mark Gibson will contact John Cooper to check what Intermediate School children are up to (some are going on the Wednesday 5.30pm Corner Shop ride). Chris Henderson also reported Wednesday track going well, can get up to 20 riders, weather not been so good lately!! Chris is away for a couple of weeks, no one to cover at this stage.
- Membership forms for 2008 to be updated with new club licence fees and Bike NZ licence fee and posted on the website. Susan Watson to update membership form and forward to Digithink to update web and correct downloading error.
- Constitution - Mike Langley received a draft from Bike NZ and Taupo Mountain Bike Club. Committee reviewed and discussed the constitution with Mike’s direction. Mike to check with companies’ office to see if anything already in place as club has a common seal so may already have something in place from historical records of the club.
- Media – Any items of interest should be publicised. Tuesday track has been hit and miss with being publicised. Chris Henderson to organise a date for open day at velodrome. December 15, 12pm at velodrome for barbeque 12pm to 3pm. Will look at purchasing a larger track bike from C. Paul for $800.
- Will possibly hold Christmas barbeque following Tuesday race on 11 or 18 December 2007 and will award cups. Susan Watson to check with Tess and Craig Greenwood re suitable date for this function.

Items to action
- Email membership list to Mike Langley
- Start in December 2007 with new membership forms and race numbers for Tuesday racing.
- Keep numbers at track and name each number – (riders to race with same number each week)
- Mike Langley to take samples of maps to Bike Taupo for ideas of Taupo regional maps to be collated and produced by Bike Taupo.
