The first event of the Summer Series was held on Saturday, 9 February 2008 in fine and warm conditions witha light breeze.
18 riders set off at 1 minute intervals on the 6km course from the Aratiatia Power Station to finish at the Landcorp farm? main stock gateways at the top of Aratiatia Road. Riders were grouped into 5 ability grades similar to those we use for the Tuesday night racing. The quickest time overall was Grant Nicoll, second Cameron Todd and third Matt Shallcrass.
Group winners were: Group1 Katie Coubrough; Group 2 Martinho Dagloria, Group 3 Alistair Loan; Group 4 Chris Todd; Group 5 Grant Nicoll.
