A small group of Taupo riders took up the challenge of the Tokoroa Lions Forest Lakes Ride, on Sunday the 7th of March 2010: This is what the organisers had to say about Wayne , who won this ride convincingly.
“Of special mention must be Wayne McConachy, a very strong rider from Taupo who produced the fastest average speed we have seen on any ride we have timed - 37.28 km/hr. That is quick given the Cashmore hill. He finished over 2 minutes in front of the second rider”!! Awesome effort Waynos!
In fact everyone from Taupo rode really well including our Club President Graham Usher, who finished 8th overall, only 9 minutes down on Wayne’s winning time, must have something to do with the fantastic racing we have here in Taupo! Full results here Results - Lakes Loop 2010
