TAUPO VELODROME: Wednesday Night Racing - 2012 Points season.
Starting January 18th 2012 every Wednesday from 6pm for an 1 ½ hours will be Warm ups and Racing. The Wednesady Night at the track racing will be more focused on harder efforts and racing. The track session will be extended over the summer period from 1hr to 1.5hrs. Also starting this Wednesday will be a 6 week points series. The points series will be raced based on the 6 events of the omnium in the order they are run at Track events. Riders competing for points will have a shielded handicap. Meaning each rider will have a certain amount of time bonus that will be handicapped on ability. If the riders try their hardest they can stop other riders eating into their time bonus, giving everyone a chance to compete for over all honors. The shielded part of this is that no rider will know their position, or time bonus until the series is finished.
Please bring your own pedals, shoes and of course helmet
Club track bikes are available for newbies! (Club membership required)
