Popular Spring Cycling Series Returns 2nd Oct - Thanks to our new Sponsors Huka Cycles!
The first night on Tuesday the 2nd October is Skill Night, which is dedicated to all new riders, including juniors, who wish to familiarise themselves with bunch riding and general road riding skills, and for experienced riders who want to polish off their skills. There will be experienced cycle club members on hand to give guidance and advice. This is a perfect opportunity for those cyclists considering riding the Lake Taupo Challenge and other upcoming summer cycling events to come along and get comfortable with riding in a bunch, which is an essential technique for personal safety and the safety of those riding around you, while conserving your energy. There is no cost to cyclists for the skill night.
Official racing of the series will start the following Tuesday the 9th of October and run for 9 weeks, every rider that finishes receives points, with additional points down to 5th place. This is a graded race, so there is a grade available for all abilities - Grades are A,B,C,D,E and Juniors. Final tally and prize giving is held at the end of the series. Taupo Club members ride for free and racing is $5 each race for all non-members. For more information please go our website taupocyclingclub.org.nz
Parking at the Motorsport Park is behind the main buildings, access from the Off Highway road on Broadlands.
