Skills Night - This TUESDAY !!!

Brush up on your Cycling Skills!

The Taupo Cycling Club along with new sponsors, Huka Cycles, are pleased to launch the much anticipated 10 week Spring Points Series , at the Taupo Motor Sport Park. The racing commences from Tuesday 2nd October, coinciding with the beginning of daylight savings, and runs weekly every Tuesday evening. Registration is open from 5.30pm and racing starts at 6pm sharp. Parking is available through the main entrance and left behind the main buildings.

The first night of the series on Tuesday the 2nd October is a skills night (not a race) for all grades, but targeted towards the beginner cyclists and juniors (aged from 13 yrs), or any more advanced riders wishing to brush up on pace line, bunch riding and cornering techniques after the winter months.  We welcome all new riders for this skills night and will have experienced Club members on hand to assist. Following on from the skills evening, the next 8 races each Tuesday at the Motorsport Park will be graded racing, with points allocation for 1st down to 5th place and the big finale will be a road race around the Huka Falls circuit, Dec 2nd, with prize giving to follow.
We will be catering for all levels of cycling ability, from A grade, right through to E grade and Juniors. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone to learn how to ride safely in a bunch or improve on their existing skills in preparation for all the fun rides and races coming up over the summer months. The timing of the series is perfect for those to will be riding the Taupo Challenge at the end of November.  Taupo Motorsport Park offers the perfect environment for this, with a safe, traffic-free, 3.5 km smooth tarmac circuit to ride on.

The Series is free to everyone on the first night. For the following 9 races in this series, cost is either $5 per race, or free to all current Taupo Cycling Club members. For further information on the series, or to join/renew your membership, check out our website at; taupocyclingclub.org.nz
